The holidays are upon us, and we’ve got stocking stuffers and Hanukkah gifts for foodies that just might become the main attractions this season. From Black River Caviar to Maison Benjamin Olive Oil to cookies that will rock your world from Jane Bakes, these are a few of our favorite things. Then of course if your stocking is really full, this gem from JAR may just be the ultimate gift.
JAR
Why we like it: So this may technically be a gift that should be under the tree (it’s significant) but it does fit in a stocking. Up a discreet staircase in the Place Vendome in Paris, is one of the most exclusive jewelers in the world, Joel Arthur Rosenthal. Whereas a lot of jewelers are by appointment only, unless you are someone in the circle of trust, JAR doesn’t give out appointments. It’s next level exclusive to get your hands on one of his pieces, which rarely go on the secondary market unless you are bidding on a piece at Christie’s. JAR creates confections of rubies, emeralds, and of course diamonds, many of which are fashioned into a flower theme. His pieces are the real deal – he’s been even given a living honor retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
In limited time collaboration, JAR has created a fragrance for Bergdorf Goodman, so everyone can have a little JAR in their life.
To buy: If you’re a serious baller, message us at [email protected] as of course we know someone. Pieces are infrequently on Sotheby’s and Christies. Otherwise high tail it to Bergdorf Goodman for the fragrance, which runs $400 + up, which is a perfect stocking stuffer.
Black River Caviar
Why we like it: We found a luxury that is yes, at a luxury price point, but an attainable one. And while there are excellent caviar houses out there, this one is special. First, it’s from Uruguay, which if you’ve never been, should be on your travel list for their pristine rolling hills and horse farms, where you feel like a better person just breathing in that air. Now imagine that this is where your fish live, breath and eat, and it’s a no-brainer that Black River is making some of the best caviar on the market.
To buy: Check out their website and as Galavante clients you get 10% off until December 31st with the code ChinGalavante2020.
Jane Bakes
Why we like it: These cookies are delicious. Plain and simple. That plain and simple applies to the ingredients, which will have you wondering how organic butter, sugar, cocoa and flour can create the rich outcome of their double chocolate gluten free cookies, or the vanilla bean, which while not gluten free, is also all natural ingredients. There are seven different iterations – so a sampler should be in order. The Jane Bakes cookies come in sleeves, so are the perfect size to place in a stocking, or have them out for coffee and desserts while you’re opening gifts this year. They are obsession worthy.
To buy: You can buy direct on their website or they also sell on Amazon.
Sunny Life Unicorn Bath Toys
Why we like it: Your stocking should be filled with fun, and whether you’re 3 or your 33, these unicorn bath toys are just gosh darned cute. Yeah – we really did write that, but these unicorn floaties are that adorable.
To buy: Available on Macrobaby or on Amazon. Or at the Four Seasons Costa Rica gift shop, which is where we fell in love with them the first time.
Maison Benjamin Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar
Why we like it: Our Chef de Cuisine for At Home With Galavante in North America has ventured out with his own olive oil and balsamic vinegar set, and like his cooking, it’s next level. You will eat bread just so you can completely soak up the slightly spicy yet elegant in finish olive oil, and the sweet and almost but not quite thick balsamic. We won’t judge if you end up just drinking a shot of the combination.
To buy: On Chef Ben’s new website.
