Designer Airline Collabs

Leanne MacPherson, Staff Writer

If you’re tired of trading comfort for style while jet-setting to your next destination, then look no further. From luxe loungewear to plush pajamas, and even some designer duds for the flight crew, these designer airline collaborations are taking in-flight style to new heights – literally.

Air France x Jacquemus

When you think of the most glamorous and decadent fashion houses, your mind immediately goes to one place: France. And now that luxury is extending far past the Champs-Élysées. Or should we say far above –– 35,000 feet above to be exact. To celebrate Air France’s new La Première travel experience, the airline has teamed up with Jacquemus for “Le Pyjama,” an exclusive loungewear set offered to all of Air France’s La Première passengers. The top features Air France’s iconic winged seahorse logo, and comes in both a V-neck and a round-neck. Plus, the cloud-soft cotton set is available in four sizes, so all passengers can snooze in style. But the elegance doesn’t end at the pajamas themselves. Each set is presented in a pillowcase-shaped pouch, adorned with Jaquemus’ signature trompe-l’œil design and round-square buttons. Chic. Transportable. Re-wearable. This collab checks all the boxes.

Lufthansa x Sho Shibuya

Imagine this feeling: you’re settled in for your long-haul flight, you’ve just hit your cruising altitude, and you look out your window to gaze over the endless blue sky. It’s tranquil, it’s humbling, it’s exactly the feeling that Sho Shibuya has embodied with his newest collaboration with Lufthansa. At the beginning of 2025, the airline entered into an exclusive partnership with Shibuya. The first product? A cotton satin loungewear set inspired by a photo he took of the sky out of a plane window. Shibuya is famous for his color gradient designs, and this sky-high endeavor is no different. The loungewear set showcases a mesmerizing blue-white gradient that represents the sky, clouds, and ocean as they can only be seen from an airplane seat. Counting sheep among the clouds just got a whole lot more chic.

Air New Zealand x Emilia Wickstead & Te Rangitu Netana

Who said travelling in style was only for passengers? New Zealand-born designer Emilia Wickstead teamed up with world-renowned Māori artist Te Rangitu Netana to create some fresh new uniforms for Air New Zealand’s over 6,000 crew members. The bespoke collection includes multiple unique pieces that celebrate Māori identity as well as New Zealand’s rich cultural heritage. The designs are bold, colorful, and feature incredibly intricate hand-painted designs. For example, the kōwhai print on “The Fine Print – Dress” and the purapura whetū pattern on “The Collective Thread – Shirt.” From pilots and cabin crew to ground support, the Air New Zealand team is gearing up for the ultimate fit check – all across the globe.
