Nobody needs an incentive to book a stay at The Maybourne Riviera. The luxury hotel that sits high on top of a cliff on the Côte d’Azur, is an attraction in and of itself. Its modernist aesthetic, rock-hewn infinity pool, and beach club should be enough to entice even the most discerning travelers. But because it’s now home to Surrenne spa (Surrenne Riviera) that spans three floors and offers high-end retreats, it’s become totally irresistible.
The Maybourne Riviera

The Maybourne Riviera is the first and only hotel from the Maybourne Group to open in France – and it’s a departure from every other property in the brand’s portfolio. The hotel is a striking modernist piece of clean, white lines and sharp angles that is set at the very summit of a rocky cliff. The hotel’s location, teetering on the edge of the Mediterranean Coast, and the abundance of windows, mean only one thing: killer views. In fact, thanks to all the floor-to-ceiling openings and large terraces throughout the property, the vistas are the star of the show. Although, inside, it’s just as stunning: a palette of whites, natural wood and blues that create a soothing seaside atmosphere, and contemporary rounded furniture that inspire modern comfort.

The Maybourne Riviera has only 67 suites and studios, keeping things intimate and peaceful for its guests. The hotel is open seasonally, from March to November.
Surrenne Riviera

While The Maybourne Riviera opened in 2002, Surrenne Riviera, the on-site spa, only launched in June 2025. It’s only the second Surrenne location in the world, after the much-lauded Surrenne Belgravia at The Emory in London.
Surrenne, a portmanteau of ‘serenity’ and ‘energy’, is not your average hotel spa, however. It’s the creme de la creme of modern wellness, offering longevity and health-focused treatments and services you’d never expect to find in a hotel – even a high-end one. Yes, there are facials, massages, nailcare, and haircare, but the menu also includes personal training sessions, physical and cognitive assessments, and osteopathy.

Surrenne Riviera spans three floors and comprises four studios: the Surrenne Gym packed with Techongym equipment; the Performance Studio, for one-on-one training; and the indoor-outdoor Waves Studio and Riviera Reflections for group classes, such as yoga, spinning, TRX, and Pilates.
For those who want more than just sporadic high-end treatments, Surrenne Riviera organizes entire wellness retreats, longevity stays, and even a membership program. So far, there are two retreats on the schedule for 2026: Spring Equinox from March 20 to 24, and an Anti-Inflamatory Reset from April 17-21.
