L.A. Story

This week, we galavante onto L.A., in search of the laid-back California vibe and much needed warmer weather. We’re in a deep freeze on the East Cost, but in reading Meleena’s article, and Isabel’s L.A. It List, they had me dreaming of warm sunshine and cranking up Katie Perry’s California Gurls.

As Editor of Galavante, I’m often asked for advice on where to go for New Year’s. L.A. is the perfect holiday getaway, for those who are still trying to figure out New Years plans. For the more traditional beach destinations like the Caribbean, or the more exotic Costa Rica, that ship may have already sailed unless you’re willing to travel off peak. L.A. though, has lots of direct flights and last minute deals on high-end hotels. There’s just enough warmth and sunshine, and as you can see from our L.A. coverage, more than enough fun for the weekend.

Our L.A. Family Story was created by Nisha Patel, a close friend who lives in L.A. Nisha’s children dine in five star restaurants all over the world. In fact, her daughter, who was three at the time, once got us entre into Joel Robouchon’s kitchen, with a private tour. Nisha’s recommendations are brilliant for a weekend that is sure to be fun for the whole family.

Next week, we begin our international galavantes again around the world. For now, we hope you enjoy being Home for the Holidays in L.A.

All the Best,
