Four Seasons, you’ve done it again. Four Seasons already left their mark in Nevis, Anguilla, the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Belize — and has now arrived in Cartagena. In late 2025, the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Cartagena will open its doors, ushering in a fresh wave of sophistication along Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Found near the historic Walled City in the bustling Getsemaní neighborhood, comes a rooftop infinity pool overlooking the bay, a 16th-century ballroom restored to its former glory, an UMARI Spa infused with indigenous healing traditions, and Four Seasons’ latest hotel masterpiece.
Location + Restoration
The hotel perches in one of Cartagena’s most dynamic districts. As you can expect, it offers unparalleled 360-degree views — Cartagena Bay, the modern skyline, and the Walled City’s iconic clock tower. And with the opening of Four Seasons Cartagena, the city’s architectural treasures are experiencing a renaissance. The Four Seasons is meticulously restoring landmark buildings from as far back as the 16th century. French designer François Catroux is behind the hotel’s design. Expect warm woods, eclectic elegance, and nothing but respect for Cartagena’s rich history. But, of course, all elements reflect the brand’s signature luxury.
Accommodations
The hotel will feature 131 accommodations. This will include 3 specialty suites, which will come with private terraces, expansive views, and bespoke furnishings. All the rooms are designed in the style of a Spanish-Colonial charm — but with a chic, sleek, contemporary edge.
Food + Drink
The Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Cartagena will feature eight restaurants and bars, offering a mix of local Colombian flavors and international cuisine.
For starters, the authentic Neapolitan Pizzeria is promised to be a true taste of Italy, with handcrafted pizzas made in a traditional wood-fired oven. The Rooftop Bar will provide a 360-degree views of Cartagena Bay, which is to be taken in while sipping on expertly-crafted cocktails. For fresh seafood, there will be a Seafood Grill. Naturally, there must be a Fine Dining Restaurant too, which will undoubtedly be a sophisticated culinary experience, featuring Colombian and global fusion cuisine.
For a more relaxed vibe, the Poolside Lounge will offer light bites and refreshing drinks. The Casual Café will be your laid-back spot for breakfast, brunch, and all-day dining. And lastly, the Coffee & Pastry Bar will be the place to go for Colombian coffee and artisanal pastries, while the Wine & Spirits Lounge will offer a curated selection of premium wines and rare spirits.
Amenities
The UMARI Spa will offer immersive treatments for wellness seekers. We heard something about six treatment rooms, including a couples’ suite. The spa will harness therapeutic properties of local plants and fruits, inspired by indigenous healing traditions.
Other amenities will include a 24-hour fitness center (so, there’s really no excuse). And did we mention the rooftop with two pools?
Events
Cartagena’s social scene will also find an exquisite new home at the Four Seasons. Two grand ballrooms await, both housed in historic landmarks. The Ballroom de la Veracruz resides within the 16th-century San Francisco Temple. The Centenario Ballroom occupies Club Cartagena, a 1920s Beaux-Arts masterpiece. These spaces promise an unforgettable backdrop for any wedding, gala, or private celebration.
