We all know that the private club craze has taken over New York City. But before there was Bond Street, Casa Cruz or Casa Cipriani, there was the Core Club. They were the first movers to bring in the modern age of private clubs that were less stuffy and anything but old school. But their space grew a little tired, until now, where they may just be the leader of the pack again.
Overview:
Core Club once again is showing the newbies that you can, in fact, teach an old dog new tricks. Or, at least, Core Club will forever be the first and best private club in Manhattan. The new location is taking over 711 5th avenue with over 60,000 sq ft. of club space.
As is to be expected, members have access to a state-of-the-art gym, salon, spa, and barbershop. There’s also a juicebar, speakeasy style restaurant with small plates, extensive wine library, and 6,000 sq ft of out door space for members to sit and enjoy. While some of the other private clubs in the city cater to nightlife, or are part of a hotel, Core Club is a distinctly professional hub where the brightest tastemakers in the city gather.
Since opening about 20 years ago, the select group of guests has not expanded past the original amount. With the new location, the club will expand guest capacity by almost double. Dues, however, still start between 15,000 and 100,000. The extra space for guests also makes room for some perks that professional elite would miss at the other members-only spots. A screening room, culinary lab for rotating chefs, and wine bar make for elevating event and meeting spaces.
