Don Angie Opens Don’s Next Door

Don's Next Door - the Seating

Since starting Don Angie a few years ago, the restaurant has become an easy favorite with New Yorkers. Now, the restaurant is opening a new venue right next to the original front called Don’s Next Door. The new venture is a dedicated, private dining room that seats a group of 16 people for private dinners.

Don Angie is the product of Scott Tacinelli and Angie Rito who had the idea to build a small, special venue where they could display their distinct style of modern Italian American food. Angie and Scott met in 2008 while working at a restaurant and were married seven years later in Florence. Currently, they co-own Don Angie and are the head chefs there.

Don's Next Door - the Chefs

We know how much you love Don Angie, but now bookings are even more complicated because the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in May 2021. Under their leadership, the restaurant has become a staple for New Yorkers and is a well-known Italian-American restaurant in New York’s West Village.

Don's Next Door - BBQ Calamari

The Red Sauce

Sometimes, the only thing in life that can make things better is some Italian food. Old-school, “Red Sauce” cuisine makes you feel hopeful and nostalgic and welcomes you, and makes you feel part of the family. This same Red Sauce Italian-American food is the speciality of Don Angie’s because they have reshaped the cuisine for their customers. Most notably, their famous lasagna is served rolled up. Chefs Scott and Angie take traditional points of view from Italian cuisine and mix them with the multicultural aspects of what makes up New York City, such as the BBQ Calamari, an Italian American favorite infused with the flavors of the Middle East. As a result, Don Angie has changed the food scene in NYC, making people crave their dishes all the more.

With the success of Don Angie, it was only natural for Scott and Angie to open up their next venture, Don’s Next Door, a dedicated private dining area available for private seated dinners. The best part is that though they are situated next to each other, Don’s Next Door is separate from Don Angie and has its own entrance, drinks area, and kitchen. The restaurant offers seating for up to 16 guests. Customers can also rent out the whole place for larger parties of up to 50 people.

Don’s Next Door will open for reservations in early 2023.
