One thing that is clear about air travel is that first class doesn’t just get you a better seat. It gets you a better life. This is a look at the new Air France Première (Jacquemus PJs included).
Emirates has The Residence, Singapore Airlines has its private Suites, and Air France has La Première. In recent years, these three have been the best first-class offerings in the world. But with its new La Première suites introduced in April 2025, the French flagship airline might have surpassed the other two. Oh là là.
Overview
The recent changes made to Air France’s La Première have blown all of our expectations right out of the water. Try it out and you’ll never want to fly any other way.
Each La Première suite measures 38 square feet and comprises a plush and wide armchair that transforms into a 6.5-foot-long bed. And while sleeping comfortably is the best part of flying first class, every new La Première suite has five windows in case looking at the clouds is more your speed. You do you.
Privacy and Amenities
Each of the new suites is separated from the rest of the cabin with a thick, floor-to-ceiling curtain. That curtain allows for total privacy, as well as insulation from sound and light. There is also a blackout curtain to cover the multiple windows for when it’s time to catch some z’s.
Inside the new suite, travelers are able to feel right at home and tidy up their belongings in the many storage spaces at their disposal. There’s a private wardrobe, a drawer where to store shoes, a small compartment for knick-knacks, and even a large drawer for luggage. (There is no overhead compartment in the suite to provide guests with more headspace.)
All the technical bells and whistles you’d expect to find are also there. You’ll find a wireless charger, a 32-inch screen, and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. There’s also a tablet that lets you control everything in the suite, from the inclination of your armchair to the light and the TV.
The ample amenity kit is filled with goodies from Sisley, and travelers are provided with fancy cotton pajamas to sleep more comfortably.
The Decor
As you’d expect from the French, the new La Première suites are all about quiet sophistication – no gold trims or imitation wood grain in sight. Each suite features high-quality furnishing and materials in soothing, neutral tones. Delicate red accents, akin to a touch of lipstick on a woman, add some life and joy to the suite.
