Hotels renovate. The Peninsula Hotel Beverly Hills renovates so that it looks almost exactly the same as it did 30 years ago. That’s probably why generations of guests call this classic hotel home when in the land of La La. Yes, some of those guests move in for the entire summer. Some of the summer guests even bring their own furniture and enough staff to take up entire floors. But if you’re staying at the Peninsula Beverly Hils, how you like it is how you’re going to have it.
A Classic
There are numerous solid places to stay in LA. Yet nothing is quite the Peninsula Beverly Hills. Here, it’s not about the coolest or trendiest hotel in LA. At the Peninsula, it’s about the best service, the most elegant rooms and the most polished experience in town. Even if you don’t stay at the Peninsula, you’ll find a reason to drop by. The garden is a a calm oasis and a classic option for lunch and cocktails.
Our favorite experience is the afternoon tea. You’ll want to order the tiered sandwich and petit fours just for the presentation. There is something special about getting absorbed in the serenity of the lounge. You can spend hours with your laptop here as your office for the day. The only distraction is the people watching, which is a power scene. In the frenzy that is LA, the Peninsula Beverly Hills is the spot to unplug, all while still being right in the mix.
Room, Sweet Room
While the rooms may look the same, they are renovated with the all the technology toys. There’s something to be said about not fiddling with confusing light switches. Here it’s all controlled by iPad. You can do everything from the iPads, from make dinner reservations, spa appointments and order room service.
We always find ourselves enjoying the room a little bit longer too. A stay here is not just to drop off your bags. The Peninsula Beverly Hills is an ideal spot if you’re planning to stay a while and want to feel like you’re at home.
