Six Senses Uluwatu

six senses uluwatu1

Good for:

Families, solo travelers, singles, groups of friends, celebrations, even for honeymoons. There’s something for everyone.

When to go:

Bali is a tropical destination, which means that all seasons are great for diving, hiking, watersports, and fishing. From April to September the weather is dry and sunny. The rainy season starts from October to March – which doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go then. Just be warned.

Stay for:

4-5 days, because you really want to entrench in exploring the area and enjoying the resort.

Is it the Best Resort in Bali?

When you think of Bali, most people think of Ubud. But the arrival of the Six Senses Uluwatu put Pura right on the map. In fact, the Six Sense Uluwatu is a reason to come to Bali.

So, what’s so special about them? Everything. It’s by far the most beautiful resort in all of Bali. They have it all, with their grand suites (twenty-eight sky suites and penthouses), seventy-five luxurious cliff pool villas, gorgeous infinity pool, top service, and food that you can eat for days without gaining any weight. Because after all, it’s the Six Senses – so while the food is delicious, it’s also healthy.

The Cuisine

Not only that, but there’s also much to choose from. Bali’s cuisine is influenced by Indonesian, Chinese, and Indian culture – fresh vegetables, meat, and seafood. The restaurant Crudo, at the heart of Six Senses Uluwatu combines elements of Japanese culinary culture, such as a sushi-ceviche bar, with a Nikkei-style Latin-American-influenced cooking style.

Then, you have Rocka, which features an ever-changing menu based on seasons. This is also where snacks are served throughout the day, and the venue also includes an interactive Chef’s Kitchen. At Rocka Edge, the restaurant features a daily exclusive menu with the fresh harvest and catch of the day – this is where your fish is so fresh, it still thinks it has plans tonight. Other than that, it’s a choice of two bars (Bar at Rocka and The Cliff Bar), as well as a Cooking Studio, where mixologists, sommeliers, and local producers such as cheesemakers and chefs come from all around the globe to teach their art.

The Spa

And we would be remiss not to mention the spa. Because that is what Six Senses Uluwatu is all about. You have a choice of a range of Balinese treatments with a modern twist, alongside more in-depth wellness programs, which focus on cleansing, sleep, and fitness. The yoga classes take place in the refreshing dimension of the outdoor pavilion, which combines in itself different hatha yoga cleansing techniques with breathing exercises, detoxifying treatments, and nurturing activities. You’re going to come back a whole new person.

As for facilities, the Spa is equipped with eight treatment rooms, two single bales with outdoor relaxation areas and a shared bathtub, a relaxation area, a jet pool, and outdoor fitness center, and even a Nail Bar. Wellness-wise, that pretty much covers everything that exists.

Bali is Complete

Bali itself is a beautiful destination, and always has been – with its underwater world, paddy fields (UNESCO heritage rice terraces of Jatiluwih), Holy River rafting, organic gardens, and cuisine like nowhere else in the world. But with Six Senses Uluwatu, it officially has everything.
