When visiting a place as iconic as Capri, there’s some pressure to get it right. And any traveler knows that your restaurant itinerary can make or break your stay. That’s why we’ve put together the foolproof Capri restaurants list, to take the stress out of your getaway. Here are nine of our favorites on the island.
Just outside Capri Tiberio Palace sits Aurora, one of the most iconic restaurants on the island. It’s your traditional Italian dining experience– but better. Known for its creative flare, expect a unique spin on classic dishes, as well as a seriously impressive wine cellar.
The atmosphere here is casual, friendly and relaxed– and set in a grove of lemon trees. Da Paolino’s cuisine is mostly traditional Caprese, but the real star of the show is the dessert room. Yes– you read that right. At the end of the night, head to the famous buffet filled with local cakes and pastries.
Da Gelsomina takes farm-to-table quite seriously. Their menu is made up of ingredients from their own garden, and the wine list features wines from vineyards located around the restaurant. You know, casual. If that wasn’t enticing enough, it’s also located on the very top of Anacapri, so the views are killer.
Located in Marina Grande and at one of our favorite Capri hotels, the ambience here is chic, warm, and intimate. JKitchen’s menu focuses on Mediterranean specialities using the freshest market ingredients. You really come here for the view, though– a panoramic terrace facing the Gulf of Naples.
It’s hard to find restaurants that are as romantic as they are relaxed. Villa Margherita happens to do both of those things, and does them well. The cuisine is comfort food at its best, with a gourmet touch. Case in point: their signature dish is fish and chips– not to be missed. And sitting under an ocean-side collection of olive trees doesn’t hurt.
The only two-Michelin-star restaurant on the island, L’Olivo is located inside the Capri Palace hotel in Anacapri. Chef Andrea Migliaccio is behind much of the restaurant’s fame, known for his unique spin on local cuisine. Think bright, flavor-packed dishes highlighting seasonal ingredients. The vibe is formal and sophisticated, matching that of the iconic hotel.
It’s easy to work up an appetite during a boating day. That’s where Il Riccio comes in. It’s located next to the famous Blue Grotto, and easily accessible by sea. Dig into freshly caught seafood or the seriously impressive fish buffet, to stay on theme. The atmosphere is casual and quintessential Mediterranean– turquoise wooden tables and breezy white linens frame views of the ocean.
If you want to enjoy your meal in what feels like a secret garden, head to Villa Verde. Located in the heart of Capri, the restaurant’s large dining room and outdoor terrace make it a great pick for a group dinner. The menu is vast, ranging from traditional cuisine from the Capri countryside, to pizzas cooked in their traditional wood burning oven.
It’s hard to say what the best part of dining at celebrity-favorite Da Mammà is. Maybe it’s the Michelin-star awarded menu, led by chef Salvatore La Ragione. Or maybe it’s the open, airy design, with a jaw-dropping view of Naples’ Bay. Whatever brings you here– trust that you’re in for a treat.
