We all have to have goals. That, and sometimes we feature places on Galavante because they’re just beyond cool. Here’s your mind escape for the day — The One Above Penthouse at One&Only Cape Town. We can hype up The One Above and wax poetic for pages. And guess what? It still will not do justice, as it is one of the most, if not most, luxurious penthouse in the world.
Whoever said it was lonely at the top, clearly did not have their entourage with them at The One Penthouse. This penthouse un-abashedly worthy of its own season on Cribs. On the top three floors of the One & Only Cape Town, this is a 13,424 square foot mansion, in the sky. While there is a lot to do in Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, you may just want to scrap plans for a few days. The One is a destination itself within Cape Town.
The Specs
It’s an aggressive position to say a hotel has the most luxurious penthouse in the world. Here are the specs, and better yet, the photos, for you to decide. When you arrive at The One Above, study, library, gym and 4 en suite bedrooms are situated on the first floor. As you walk out onto the terrace on this floor, you have your own private pool, plus an outdoor shower. Because this is a place to entertain, there’s also bar, barbecue and kitchen, dining table for entourage and pool loungers. With the views, this is the place to chill out during the afternoons.
On the second floor, you have your dining areas, lounges and kitchen. The architectural stunner is the grand marble staircase with glass balustrade, fireplace between the formal lounge and dining area, a black grand piano. We’re sure for the coin of this place, you could get Bono to come play. This is definitely the kind of stuff that goes on in the most luxurious penthouse in the world.
The second floor outdoors has a wrap-around terrace, also with its own pool, barbecue area, and outdoor dining. We like to think of the third floor as the evening den of debauchery. This where we would do an After-Hours party, with stunning views of Cape Town.
Dollars & Cents
Well, it’s a bit more to stay here than a few dollars and cents. Depending on the time of year, rates run around $85,000/nightly and up to over $100,000/nightly, plus taxes, when Cape Town is in its prime holiday season. If you ever have a chance to stay here, you know you’ve done something right. Either that or sold your soul, which hey, may be worth it to stay in what could be the most luxurious penthouse in the world.
