Favorite Destination

I am always looking for my next favorite destination! Last summer my husband and I found ourselves in the Douro Valley in Portugal, and as I looked around at my surroundings while sipping my wine, I thought, “This is perfect!”  Then we continued onto San Sebastián in Spain, and every day was filled with some of the best bites that we’ve ever had, and I thought, “Now this is perfect!” So I want to continue exploring the world and falling in love over and over again.

Travel Philosophy

I want to immerse myself as much as I can, whether that means learning a few simple phases in the local language or eating a traditional breakfast. When possible, I want to experience a destination from the people that live there. I also love to meet other travelers. There is a freedom and an honesty that exists when you have a conversation away from home with other people that are also away from home. However, I should circle back to how important cuisine is to me while traveling. I want to have your street food, I want to try your Michelin restaurants, and I want to taste your take on Italian food! I mention this specifically because I was blown away by pizza in Hoi An and I am still thinking about a calzone I had in Lisbon. There are so many ways that travel can surprise you, and I love that too!
