The Well NYC

Joelle Mentis, Staff Writer

First there was members-only night life, at spots like Casa Cipriani and Zero Bond. Now, the trend has moved onto members-only wellness. These new hubs popping up across the city offer bespoke treatment plans that conform to busy lifestyles. The wellness club reflects a commitment to housing the totality of self care under one roof. But of course, not every club is created equal, and some like THE WELL standout.

East Meets West Treatment

THE WELL NYC has a whole-person philosophy. This means that they aim to have every kind of treatment a person might need, informed by an East-meets-West spiritual and medicinal approach. THE WELL houses 13,000 sq ft just outside of Union Square. The space holds a full-service spa, classes that range from high-intensity exercise to meditation, and upscale gym amenities like steam and sauna rooms.  There is also a designated foot rub lounge, organic restaurant, and biomedical facility.

Memberships offer unlimited access to classes, suites, relaxation spaces and their relaxing co-working spaces. It also offers reduced pricing for spa services and complimentary health coaching. And because THE WELL desires to bring likeminded people together, there are member-events with experts in the field to build community and spread knowledge.

What does a membership include?

If you are not a member, you can treat THE WELL like a spa or exercise studio where you can book individual classes and services. Memberships transform guests’ experience, providing a personal health coach who designs bespoke monthly programs for each individual. Memberships cost around $400-500 per month, and include access to the gym, co-working space, classes and unoccupied rooms, the sauna, relaxation lounge and more.

The bespoke treatment plans include a range of integrative and holistic approaches to body and mind care. The best part about a membership is that your health coach can inform your masseuse of your brain fog, and your energy healer of your tight shoulders. Practitioners trained in the oldest Eastern philosophies and newest biomedical advancements can treat the whole being with each therapy. And to top it off, an organic kitchen can feed you with hormone and additive-free meals.
