What’s more quintessentially British than a 17th-century country estate surrounded by acres of manicured gardens, woods, cider orchards, and farmland? Well, take that estate, deck it out in a Burberry pattern, and you’ve got your answer.
From June 2 to August 17, 2025, the very upscale hotel The Newt in Somerset is collaborating with the luxury fashion house Burberry to offer travelers an oh-so-British getaway. You won’t find a chicer hotel anywhere in the UK this season.
The Setting
The Newt in Somerset is, obviously, located in the rural county of Somerset in southwest England. It’s around 2.5 hours away from London and just 45 minutes from the city of Bath. While that may seem a little too remote for you, know this: it’s worth the trip. No traffic noise, no crowds, no stress. Only nature, gorgeous architecture, a top-notch spa, and some very refined food. Oh, and for a limited time, some Burberry swag. What’s not to like?
The Newt in Somerset is a vast working estate that became a hotel in 2019. The hotel of only 42 rooms and suites comprises of two buildings: the original limestone country house called Hadspen House, and the Farmyard, a former dairy renovated to perfection. Both are extremely sophisticated, but Hadspen House is where it’s at if you want the Burberry treatment this summer.
The Burberry Treatment
Burberry isn’t being timid about this collaboration – it’s going all out to make its mark at The Newt in Somerset. The brand’s signature pattern (turned green for the occasion) is just about everywhere. You’ll find it on the golf carts that visitors can ride to tour the 2,000 acres of gardens, as well as on the net and the rackets used on the badminton court. Even the croquet lawn got Burberried by some very talented gardeners.
Travelers who stay two nights or more at The Newt in Somerset this summer are able to indulge in afternoon tea onboard a restored British Pullman train carriage jazzed up in – you guessed it – the green Burberry pattern. There are also picnic lunches created from produce from the estate farm – served atop a Burberry blanket, it goes without saying.
The icing on the cake, however, might be the Burberry Check hot-air balloon that you can ride to see the estate from above. Now, that’s a serious commitment to branding.
Of course, there’s also a dedicated place for you to be tempted by some Burberry pieces. Bathing suits, hats, scarves, umbrellas and more from Burberry’s Summer 2025 collection are available for purchase at a boutique on the grounds.
