This week, we are not only galavanting to the stunning Zermatt, Switzerland, but we are also proud to present our new website. Thank you to all of our friends and family who have provided the invaluable feedback and guidance as we develop Galavante. We are continuing to enhance the website with the soon to be launched Travel Reviews and Forum, but are excited to unveil the new look of the website today. And what better issue to present than Zermatt, Switzerland, which is one of the most beautiful places to galavante this winter season.
Our Co-Founder, Eva Helene Foust Yazhari has the fortune to live in Switzerland, and has become quite the ski resort aficionado. As Eva so eloquently puts it, Swiss skiing is about high brow-culture, gorgeous views and excellent food. While we love the powder of skiing in the U.S., there is something just glamorous about skiing into France for lunch, then heading home to apres ski in Switzerland. With its picturesque town and the Matterhorn in the background, Zermatt has something for everyone – skiers and non-skiers alike.
To celebrate Zermatt at home, our Special Contributor Vicky Ruvolo created a decadent Swiss brunch menu. The traditional Swiss pasta, Alpermagronen, a pasta with onions, potato, cream and gruyere, will soon become a favorite recipe. I made it a few days ago, and it’s the perfect winter meal, especially when you are snowed in. While I don’t know if I will make it to Zermatt before the end of ski season, it’s nice to be able to experience it at home.
All the Best,
