Dear Friends,
I know; I did not call, and worse, I did not write. It’s been some time since I’ve had the opportunity to write my Editor’s Note, but you have never been far from my mind. We’ve had many exciting developments with Galavante this past month. First, we’re bringing you more diverse articles through our newsletters.
Today you’ll notice that our feature is a First Look. The First Look provides you an inside peek into a hotel that is totally brand new, or has had a gut renovation to put Joan Rivers to shame.
Today, we’re featuring the Palais Namaskar in Morocco. We have many new properties to share with you throughout this year, from old friends like The Christopher in St. Barth’s, which went from a three-star with frogs in the pool to a five star chic enclave, to the brand new Aman Resort in Greece. We’ve always like our scoop, and now we get to share it with you.
In addition to the First Look, you’ll also see a monthly feature on Galavante Confidential, which provides inside tips on travel. From negotiating in the souks, scoring that upgrade and the impact of the gold market on buying 22k gold in India, we have the inside track for you. At Galavante, we are former finance geeks at heart, so it’s our way to channel our inner Wall Street. We would love to hear your feedback as we develop the articles.
Please don’t fret though; we’ll still provide you with inspiration to travel to destinations around the world. This past month, I’ve been in St. Barth’s, Cannes and Paris. Two weeks on croissants was brutal on the diet. But we stayed in gorgeous hotels, ate our way through the locales, imbibed in beverages and met some extroardinary people to bring the world to you. I even picked up a favorite new hotel – actually villa – in the form of Rockstar at Eden Rock. We’ve returned energized with lots of inspiration to write for you.
Our start up is becoming a grown up. Actually, a pre-teen, but we still hope to make you proud. You’ll notice even more developments on the website design, improved experience in navigating around, beautiful new photos and some surprises in new features. Please stay tuned – much more to come.
All the best,
