If you thought Whole Foods was the ultimate high-end supermarket, think again. It’s been well and truly replaced by Erewhon, the chain of health-and-nutrition-focused grocery stores. In the past 10 years, the brand (which started with one humble Boston location in the 1960s) has grown so much that it now has nearly a dozen stores in and around Los Angeles. The popularity of Erewhon has recently gone through the roof thanks to celebrity endorsements. The likes of the Kardashians, Shawn Mendes, Miley Cyrus and more have all been spotted shopping there, and several superstars have collaborated with the brand. Such is the notoriety of Erewhon that more locations are in the works, including one in New York City.
More Erewhon Locations

While it started in Massachusetts, Erewhon solely has stores in California. There are 11 stores in and around Los Angeles, from Pasadena to Culver City, Venice, and Calabasas. But when you’re that popular, 11 stores clearly isn’t enough. That’s why the brand is opening three more in the L.A. area: one in Thousand Oaks, one in Glendale, and one in West Hollywood. And why confine yourself to California when demand is high throughout the country? Erewhon ships its grocery items throughout the US, as well as to Canada and the UK. And since October, it also ships do-it-yourself smoothie kits to 20 cities in the US, including NYC, SLC, Denver, and more. More importantly for fans of the brand, a very exclusive Erewhon will soon open within a Manhattan private members club.
An Erewhon Tonic Bar in New York

Erewhon’s first location outside of California will be in New York City’s West Village. More precisely, the Erewhon Tonic Bar, will be inside Kith Ivy / Padel 609, a members-only luxury wellness and padel club. The NYC Erewhon location will sell a selection of the brand’s famous healthy beverages, including smoothies and juices. And don’t worry, it won’t be restricted to members of the club. Those within a certain radius of Kith Ivy / Padel 609 will be able to purchase drinks via Postmates and Uber Eats. It’s good news for East Coast folks craving Erewhon’s Malibu Mango Smoothie or Coconut Cloud Smoothie.
If you’re keen to become a member of Kith Ivy / Padel 609, however, know that the initiation fee is $36,000, and annual membership dues are $7,000.
Celebrity Collaborations

Erewhon is especially famous for its $20-plus, packed-with-healthy-ingredients smoothies. Through collaborations with the brand, celebrities such as Hailey Bieber, Kourtney Kardashian, and Bella Hadid have had smoothies named after them.
The Hailey Bieber Smoothie (AKA the Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie) consists of almond milk, organic strawberries, bananas, avocado, dates, maple syrup, collagen peptides, sea moss gel, and coconut cream and costs $20. Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh Potion Smoothie, and Bella Hadid’s Kinsicle Smoothie are not available any longer on Erewhon’s website, but there are plenty more options that are just as appetizing.
