When someone claims that the new hotel is going to be “one of the most luxurious in Central Europe,” you have our attention. Akroterion is meant to open it’s doors by the end of 2025. And where better than Prague? The high-end hotel market in this sought-after destination is booming, and this is just one more reason to plan your European getaway. Whether you’re coming for the history, the architecture, or just a good plate of svíčková, Prague never disappoints. And now it’s about to get even better.

Location

Akroterion is set across nine long-abandoned historic houses in the Old Town – right in the heart of Prague, next to the main square. Reconstruction has been underway since 2013, and it looks like it will have been worth the wait. With a grand opening announced for the end of the year, Akroterion has a promising chance of becoming one of the city’s newest landmarks. And that’s saying something, in a city already packed with them.

Design

All nine reconstructed houses that make up Akroterion have preserved their spirit, uniqueness, and identity. But don’t think that means they’ve skimped on luxury. The released photos show Renaissance-painted ceilings, wall frescoes, and intricate stonework details. Which, is no surprise, given that Jacques Garcia was in charge of the interior. This well-renowned French architect is known for drawing inspiration from the Napoleonic extravagance and Zen minimalism. One of the standout new features is the incredible glass ceiling in some of the open courtyards. This allows guests to dine under the stars even on a cold winter night – because why should weather ever get in the way of a little magic?

Services

The hotel will offer around 100 rooms and suites, a restaurant with a capacity for 180 guests, and a relaxation area. You’ll also be able to grab a few drinks at their elegant bar or stylish cafe – perfect for a break between exploring the city. Pařížská Street, one of the most luxurious shopping destinations in Prague, is just a short walk away. But you’ll also find several high-end boutiques right on site, if you prefer to shop without even putting on a coat. And with a state-of-the-art indoor spa and a range of conference facilities, Akroterion is clearly designed to cater for both business and leisure travelers.
