Cape Cadogan is a picture-perfect boutique hotel. The 19th-century Cape Town property is stylish, unique, and intimate – the winning trifecta. But don’t confuse ‘boutique’ with ‘petite’. Yes, the hotel has only 29 rooms and suites, but these accommodations are far from mini. In fact, its most recently renovated suites, the Stable Suites are 646 square feet. That’s room enough to host a not-so-small soiree. But size isn’t everything, and the Stable Suites have a lot more to offer.
What Are Cape Cadogan’s Stable Suites Like?
There are a total of 10 Stable Suites at Cape Cadogan and, unlike the rest of the accommodations, they are not in the main Georgian-Victorian townhouse. Instead, they are in a newly converted building, located on the same property. But fear not: the aesthetic that makes the main building so special has been replicated in the Stable Suites. That means that the abundance of greens, golds, blacks, and patterned textiles are all there. And so are the tasteful contemporary furnishings.
What most differentiates the Stable Suites from the other accommodations at Cape Cadogan isn’t their size or their location, however. It’s who they are intended for. Until the completion of the Stable Suites in May of this year, the hotel did not accept guests under the age of 10. While this is an ongoing rule in the main building’s rooms and suites, the Stable Suites were specifically built for families so children of any age are allowed. In fact, children who stay in the Stable Suites are often treated to plush toys and designed-just-for-them bathrobes, slippers, and more. The Stable Suites can accommodate up to four people and they have interleading rooms, in case you need more than one suite to fit your entire posse.
Amenities
Cape Cadogan is boutique-size but mighty. The hotel has the same high-end amenities as any luxury property, including two pools, a fitness center, and a swanky restaurant. But it’s the spa and its long list of unique and surprising treatments that takes this hotel to a new level of extravagance. Think Chardonnay facial masks, CBD oil massages, facial cuppings, and even soy candle massages.
