Sometimes, we find cool places. Sometimes, we find cool people. And sometimes, these two intersect, which is the case with 432 Hermosa. Formerly owned by Dinah Shore, it is reportedly part of Leonardo DiCaprio’s house. Or at least part of his real estate portfolio. But, even without the pedigree, this is your house for that Palm Springs weekend.

It’s not just the desert that is bringing the heat this year; Palm Springs is the place to be. With the opening of uber luxury hotels like Sensei and Hermann Bungalows, there are now top hotels to rest your head for a weekend getaway. But before any of that, there was an insider’s house to rent, that belongs on MTV’s cribs. And not just because it’s reportedly owned by Leo (no last name needed).

The History

Leonardo DiCaprio’s house at 432 Hermosa may be part of his real estate portfolio, but he’s not the first A-lister to grace the space. The home first belonged to actress and singer Dinah Shore, originally built for her in 1964 by renowned architect Donald Wexler. It’s also located in Old Las Palmas, a historically star-studded neighborhood. 432 Hermosa sits among other vacation spots once frequented by names like Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Liberace, and Elvis Presley– to name a few. So it’s totally on brand that it’s now Leonardo DiCaprio’s house. Now available to rent out for vacations and events, the single-story estate draws from mid-century-modern and Western ranch styles. The result– a cozy, glamorous, Palm Springs paradise.

The Details

Guests can book the 7,100-square-foot estate starting at $3,750 a night, with a two-night minimum. Open, airy, and framed by the San Jacinto Mountains, 432 Hermosa’s interior is as dreamy as it gets. Wexler’s signature steel beam walkway leads to warm, funky spaces – like the sunken living room, for example, fit with a fireplace, cocktail bar, and grand piano. In total, 432 Hermosa boasts 6 bedrooms, 7.5 baths, a deluxe chef’s kitchen, a heated pool and spa, a full tennis court, an additional 1-bedroom guest house, and daily maid service. Built on a secluded 1.3 desert compound, the estate also uses a gated service entrance for additional privacy and security. This is Leonardo DiCaprio’s house, after all.
