In itself, caviar and Champagne aren’t newsworthy in NYC. But when it’s for $39, the story gets more compelling. You can say it gives new meaning to high-low. This is your new happy hour in Nolita.

The Restaurant

Little Rascal Nolita has been blessing the Big Apple with Mediterranean flavors for over a decade. Co-owned by brothers Halil and Öner Gündogdu, this Nolita staple combines the brothers’ deep Turkish roots with chic Manhattan moxie to create a space that is equal parts gathering place and cozy restaurant. It’s where old friends unwind over a glass of wine, quirky cocktails are almost too pretty to drink, and homey Mediterranean flavors taste like they were just pulled from Büyükanne’s seaside kitchen. Little Rascal has a plethora of flavor-packed options for both brunch and dinner, as well as an extensive selection of wine, beer, and cocktails. But it’s their iconic Happy Hour that’s bringing new meaning to the phrase “it’s five o’clock somewhere.”

The Happy Hour

Happy Hour usually evokes images of basic discounted drinks and maybe some two-for-one bar food to split with your crew. But you know you have something worthwhile when your Happy Hour includes oysters and not one, but two types of caviar. Every Monday-Friday, from 4pm-6:30pm, Little Rascal hosts a Happy Hour that seems too good to be true. The Happy Hour features a set menu that will instantly transport you from lower Manhattan to a bougie Mediterranean beach club serving fresh catches coast-side. To start, dig into succulent oysters ($10 for 1/2 dozen, $20 for a dozen), or take your pick between Kaluga caviar ($49) and Golden Ossetra caviar ($59). And if you’re not a fan of seafood, Little Rascal still has you covered. Their menu offers a variety of comfy, shareable bites like olives, dips, meatball sliders, and dolma, ranging from $7-$15. And of course, what’s Happy Hour without charcuterie? Cheese ($18), meat ($22), or a combo of both ($28) — it’s a delicious choose-your-own-adventure game.

But Happy Hour can’t be carried by only the food. And Little Rascal’s Happy Hour has the beverages to match. If bubbles are your vibe, there’s Prosecco ($10) and Champagne ($12). For the vinos in the crowd, you can choose between Montepulciano, an Italian Red, or Alvarinho, a Portuguese White — both $12. But, by far the most fun are Little Rascal’s whimsical collection of $12 cocktails. There’s “Smokey Carrots”, an earthy blend of carrot, thyme, green chartreuse, and mezcal. Then, there’s “Cool As A Cucumber #2,” a refreshing gin-based drink with bergamot, cucumber, and matcha (yes, matcha). And lastly there’s “Constantina’s Cosmo” — a perfectly pink and fruity fresh mix of raspberry, lychee, St-Germain, and vodka.
