Sanara Tulum Review: The Who’s Who of Luxury Tranquility

A white bedroom with white and wood furnishings and two large windows on each side

Sanara Tulum is a highly recommended, luxury and eco-boutique hotel.

It’s located on Tulum Beach in Quintana Roo, on the Riviera Maya in Mexico. The name “Sanara” translates as “you will heal” in Spanish and this has become the hotel’s mantra. Sanara Tulum offers guests ‘space to breathe, heal and feel free.’

The hotel is easily reached from the United States as there are direct flights to Cancun international airport.

Who stays at Sanara Tulum?

Sanara Tulum attracts actors, sports stars and rockstars who return year after year to relax and recharge at this beach side luxury hotel.

In fact, it would be easier to list the celebrities who do not vacation here. These are just some of the celebrities recently spotted on vacation at this Tulum hotel.

  • Drew Barrymore
  • Richard Gere
  • Sienna Miller
  • Reese Witherspoon
  • Aaron Rodgers and Danica Patrick

Why stay at Sanara Tulum?

There is a reason why Sanara Tulum was voted No.3 in the 150 Greatest Hotels in the World by Harper’s Bazaar (2017). Everything about the hotel oozes luxury and promotes relaxation.

It’s a jungle-meets-beach, “mod-cons-meets-ancient-ruins,” barefoot minimalist style hotel. Anyone who seeks a little luxury tranquility will find peace here.

1. The environment around Sanara Tulum

The hotel is on one of the most beautiful, pristine white sand beaches in the world and overlooks the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Guests can explore the local area on tours that are organised by the hotel. You can visit the historic Mayan ruins at Tulum or Chichen Itza, take a guided jungle hike or snorkel and scuba in crystal clear cenotes.

2. The suites at Sanara Tulum

All the suites at Sanara Tulum have a kingsize bed with soft bamboo cotton linens, air conditioning and high speed, free WiFi. Ground floor suites and rooms include an al fresco claw-foot bath tubs whilst those on the second floor have a balcony overlooking the ocean.

Choose between poolside suites with a private garden courtyard or a jungle poolside suite just 100 metres from the private beach.

Families can book the three-suite Beach Villa, which sleeps up to 10 family members and comes with a living and dining room.

3. The hotel spa

The Sanara Wellness Centre offers in-house and guest specialists for their “Cleanse & Heal” program.

This program aims to have you leave more relaxed and healthier than when you checked in. Treatment rooms offer classic cleanses, crystal healing and detox therapies. Alternatively, you can opt for craniosacral therapy, biomagnetic treatments or reflexology. Sound healing is also offered and there is a beachfront yoga studio with classes.

The spa works in tandem with the hotel’s on site restaurant, Real Coconut, which is known for its plant based, gluten and dairy free menus.
