While we travel all over the world at Galavante, our team is well aware that the meaning of life is not 1000+threadcount sheets. At Galavante, we work hard, and play hard. It’s the working part of our company mission, “Travel for the Working Jet Set,” which keeps us grounded. At Galavante, the Founders spend a significant amount of our time and resources supporting local and international charities. For the next four weeks, we’d like to focus on being Thankful, which only just begins with Thanksgiving.
For Thanksgiving and the holidays, there’s no place like home, where we’ll be sticking close for the next four issues. I can’t think of a better place to kick off the holiday season than New York. In this issue, we share our personal favs from restaurants, museums and galleries. But no two New Yorkers top lists will ever be exactly alike. The beauty of New York is that you make it your own.
On a personal note, Thanksgiving is an anniversary for me. Two years ago, I worked at one of the top private equity firms in the world. But, I could not have been more unfulfilled. This Thanksgiving marks the weekend I submitted my application to Columbia Business School, which set in motion the events that led to me starting Galavante. And what an adventure it has been.
Thankful could not be a better theme for this holiday. I am thankful to the friends I met at Columbia Business School, who supported me with ideas, connections, travel companionship and friendship.
I am thankful for my Co-Founders, Board Members and incredible Galavante team who put their hearts into Galavante to make it the success it is today. This is only the beginning.
I am thankful to you, the Galavante supporters who inspire us to create beautiful articles. We aim to bring joy from all over the world to you.
Last but not least, I am thankful for my husband, who gave me the swift kick in the pants to make a change in my life and pursue my dreams.
All the best to you this thankful day.
