Favorite Destination:
Growing up, I spent many summers traveling through the South of France. My parents met in Monaco in their late-twenties and married six months later, so the region carries sentimental value for my family. I go back as often as I can, not just for the Riviera landscape and the incredible food, but also for the childhood memories that are reawakened in the minute I step
off the plane in Nice.
Most Exotic Destination Traveled:
I’ve never seen more biodiversity in such a small geographic area than I did while in Costa Rica. Riding horseback through a forest to reach the Nauyaca Waterfalls was an unforgettable experience (as were the several sloths and monkeys encountered along the way).
On My Bucket List:
My grandfather was born and raised in the Moroccan port city of Essaouira, and it has been a dream of mine to visit.
More about Michelle Dandeneau:
I’ve lived on the Upper West Side of New York City for the past seven years, and I am constantly trying to convince people that it is the best neighborhood in NYC. I recently graduated with my Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University, and I want to combine my love for writing and travel with my passion for public health. On days off I can be found at the ballet, playing tennis, or meandering the aisles of a new bookstore in the city.
