Majesty’s Pleasure- A New Social Beauty Club

Joelle Mentis, Staff Writer

There’s a surprising new private club opening in NYC that actually is a surprise. This one is the first of its kind to land in NYC because it’s a wellness club. So, instead of having a dozen places to get your services done, they want to be your one-stop shop.

The Inspiration Behind Majesty’s Pleasure

Power Couple Sara Kardan and Jeff Armstrong co-founded Majesty’s Pleasure in 2012 as a revolutionary take on the salon experience. Sara’s background in hospitality and architecture led her and her husband to start a business that targeted a gap in the beauty industry. Toronto’s nail salon scene didn’t offer the kind of experience she likes: an indulgent, white-marble decorated place to drink and socialize with likeminded women.

And more importantly, as an immigrant from Iran, Sara saw that the Western wellness industry lacked the staple ingredient she grew up with in Persian culture. Her venture makes her customers feel like they are part of her community and at home in her space. It isn’t enough to make guests feel welcome — they should feel totally at ease and relaxed.

A Social Beauty Club

Majesty’s Pleasure Flatiron is here to revamp your mani-pedi ritual. The company, which currently has two locations in Toronto, is an experiential social club, spa, beauty parlor, and cocktail bar. The new location of Majesty’s Pleasure in the Flatiron will be the first in the States.

Unlike other wellness clubs in the area, Majesty’s Pleasure focuses on the all-important beauty regime that’s almost universal for New Yorkers: the manicure. Memberships include monthly, bimonthly and all-inclusive unlimited manicure services. Additionally, Majesty’s Pleasure offers treatments like facials, massages, hair services, hair removal, and eyebrow shaping.

Social Drinks and Cocktails

At Majesty’s Pleasure, the bar offers wellness-approved drinks. You can choose from coffees, fresh kombuchas, protein smoothies, and teas, as well as indulgent bubbles and cocktails. Whether you book your mani for after the gym or  happy hour, there is an appropriate refreshment.

How do I Join?

Unlike other social clubs in the area, you can purchase a membership upfront at your designated level. The tiered system offers a range of memberships from Gold to Diamond, each with a different set of benefits. The base level ($70 per month) offers two regular manicures per month with an additional 15% off other services. The differences between memberships include whether or not you want gel polish or extensions and pedicures, as well as what time of day you want to book. The Quartz membership offers unlimited manis booked between 12-4pm. Memberships increase in price and benefits, but all include regular manicures and 15% off additional services.
