It’s not exactly breaking news to say that the French Riviera is one of the best places for a glamorous vacation. Full of chic boutiques, trendy beach clubs, high-end hotels, and oh-so-gorgeous views of the glittering sea, it’s the gathering spot of A-listers and deep-pocket travelers. But there’s one secret only the most seasoned French Riviera visitors know about – the Côte d’Azur’s got islands. And the most exclusive of them all is Bendor. Lucky for us, there’s an intimate luxury hotel opening on Bendor in 2026: Zannier Île de Bendor. And because we know that Zannier’s reputation is flawless, we expect to be blown away.
Zannier Hotels
Zannier properties fly under the radar of most travelers, attracting only the most discerning globe trotters. Since its foray in the hospitality industry in 2011, the brand has accumulated only five (soon to be six) hotels in its portfolio. But it’s not quantity that matters, it’s quality. And on that front, Zannier delivers. Zannier hotels all combine quiet luxury with destination-focused architecture, decor, and food to fully immerse guests into their environment. For example, Zannier’s hotel in Megève is a traditional Alpine chalet, the one in Cambodia consists of stilted villas, and one of its two Namibian properties is composed of 15 traditional owanbo-style huts. Zannier Île de Bendor hotel will be no different.
Bendor Island

At 17 acres, Bendor is small, but it’s big enough to wow upscale travelers. The island is only seven minutes by boat from the town of Bandol on the French Riviera. You won’t have any trouble getting there, but it’s far enough to feel exclusive.
Although Zannier does not own the island, its management and renovation has been in the brand’s hands since 2021. For the past five years the islands’ been closed to the public so it could get the facelift it needed, but come spring 2026, it’ll be open again. Mark your calendar — this is not something you’ll want to miss.
Zannier Île Bendor

The hotel that Zannier’s been working on for Bendor will have only 93 rooms and suites divided over three sites, each with a different vibe. Delos will be an homage to the 60s; Madrague will provide authentic Provençal charm; and Soukana will be all about reconnecting with nature. No matter which one you pick for your stay, you’ll be steeped in the Mediterranean spirit and the understated luxury that is Zannier’s signature style.

When it comes to food, guests will be able to take advantage of three restaurants, four bars, a café, and a creperie, all spread out over the island. And because Zannier thinks of everything, there’s also a 12,000-square-foot wellness center. Expect indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor yoga platform, fitness center, steam room, tennis and pickleball courts, and treatment rooms where you can get pampered.
Come May 1, 2026, you’ll be able to check the property and the island for yourself.
