Scorpios in Tulum

Just when you hit that point of withdrawal and your days in Mykonos seem so far away, the people at Scorpios come to the rescue. This season, Scorpios has popped up in Tulum, and it’s like it was just meant to be.

The Arrival

The move into Mexico has been years in the making for Scorpios. Today, Tulum stands as one of the brand’s most anticipated international debuts. Working in partnership with Thor Urbana, the team shaped the property across a coveted slice of the Mexican Caribbean. By 2024, they finished construction, defining it as both a hotel and a beach club. With that milestone behind them, it’s now ready to join the next wave of Scorpios openings worldwide.

About Scorpios

For those who haven’t had the pleasure, Scorpios is luxury beach club and lifestyle brand that started in Mykonos in 2015. It all began as a creative, community‑driven beach club. Part restaurant, part music venue, and part wellness space. It was conceived as a modern take on the ancient Greek agora — a gathering place built around food, music, art, and ritual. Since then, it has expanded into a small global hospitality concept. And now, Scorpios is also part of Soho House & Co’s portfolio.

The Setting

Scorpios Tulum rises from a grove of palms along Tulum’s pristine shore. The designers conceived it as a retreat that balances elemental surroundings with a worldly, bohemian mood. The project spans 14,500 square meters and includes 54 guest rooms, a clubhouse, a restaurant, a bazaar, a ritual temple, and an expansive beachfront.

From there, the design story deepens. With DMP Arquitectura at the helm and interiors by Lambs & Lions and StudioMacBride, the aesthetic takes a unified approach. Together, they lean on Chukum, Tzalam, and basalt to build a warm, modern tropical palette. Ultimately, the result is a space grounded in the terrain yet unmistakably Scorpios.

Food + Drink

Everything begins with the food. From there, Scorpios’ culinary philosophy centers on generous sharing plates and long communal tables. It also embraces a slow, connective approach to dining. It’s a ritual shaped by Mediterranean flavors, freshness, and simplicity. Naturally, the Tulum outpost follows that same rhythm, with dishes designed for lingering meals. Meanwhile, the bar team builds the program around regional ingredients and beautiful cocktails.

The Season

Unlike Mykonos, Tulum is a year‑round destination, and Scorpios is positioned accordingly. With luxury suites, beachfront villas, a restaurant, spa, and wellness center, the team built the Tulum outpost for long stays and slow days. They carefully designed it for the global crowd that drifts through the Riviera Maya in every season.

In the end, Scorpios in Tulum feels timeless — a meeting point between Mykonos mythology and Mexico’s jungle‑meets‑sea energy. It arrives just in time for anyone craving that familiar Scorpios alchemy.
