Rosewood, the luxury hospitality brand behind New York’s The Carlyle and Paris’ Hôtel de Crillon, is on fire. Although it currently owns and operates 37 luxury hotels on five continents, it is planning to launch 19 more in the near future. So far in 2025, Rosewood has opened three new hotels: one in Japan, one in Mexico, and one in Qatar — the most anticipated of them all. The impressive Rosewood Doha launched in Qatar on July 15, and it’s a sight for sore eyes.
Rosewood Doha Is Not in Doha
That might seem confusing, but stay with us. Rosewood Doha is located in the new, futuristic town of Lusail in Qatar. Lusail, the second-largest city in the country, is about 12 miles north of Doha, so you can easily go back and forth between the two. More precisely, Rosewood Doha is located on Lusail’s waterfront so you can enjoy views of the Persian Gulf from your accommodation.
Architecture and Decor
Despite the fact that Lusail is packed with unique and very avant-garde skyscrapers, Rosewood Doha manages to stand out from the rest. And in the best way possible. The two towers that comprise the property are wrapped in a white lacy shell. The unusual shell is meant to evoke both the corals so abundant in the Persian Gulf, and mashrabiya, a traditional islamic architectural element. The lacing is visible from the outside and the inside of the hotel. It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen.
Inside, the decor is a perfect example of quiet luxury. There’s nothing garish, nothing glittery, and nothing tacky. It’s all about high-quality furnishings and textiles in neutral and muted colors. Yes, there is veined marble in the bathrooms and in the kitchens, but the spaces remain modest – there isn’t a gold toilet or tap in sight. Despite their substantial square footage, every room, suite, apartment, and residence in the property exudes a feeling of comfort and cocooning, so you can feel right at home.
Accommodations
Rosewood Doha is not a small hotel, to say the least. It has 155 rooms and suites, 162 apartments, and 276 residences. And yes, there is a difference between them all. The apartments (one, two, or three bedrooms) can be rented for up to one year, while the residences (one, two, or three bedrooms) can be rented for extended stays and are located in a separate tower from the rest. The rooms and suites can accommodate between two and three guests and range between 505 and 1,840 square feet. No matter what accommodation you opt for, you’ll have room to dance.
Amenities
A hotel of this caliber wouldn’t pass muster if it did not have a few bars and restaurants, and Rosewood Doha has eight in total. The Levantine Brasserie, open 24/7 and serving Middle Eastern cuisine, is the most exciting, especially for all the jet-lagged travelers. That said, Butterfly Pâtisserie, is a close second. We can always do with more sweet treats, right? There’s even a deli on the ground floor for bubble tea and Qatari ice cream.
And, of course, there’s a wellness center. Asaya is where you can take part in a sound healing ceremony or sweat it out in a high-intensity training. For something a little more low-key, try out the padel court, or one of the three pools.
