It’s not just fashion designers getting into the restaurant game. Baccarat in Paris has made shopping into an experience with the opening of their new restaurant. After an approximately 2-year close for renovations, Maison Baccarat in Paris’ 16th arrondissement has reopened in early 2025 with none other than Chef Alain Ducasse at the helm of the new restaurant. Here’s all you need to know about the Baccarat x Alain Ducasse collaboration on the new space.

Design

Maison Baccarat reopened with a new spirit and a bold invitation: come live with us. The historic maison has been re-imagined, each space transformed by a different artist, creating dialogue between heritage and contemporary vision. Designer Harry Nuriev reinterpreted the entrance with a striking tribute to Baccarat’s glass-making mastery. Pier Tatin bathed the antechamber in stained glass, echoing the sacred tones of the Church of St. Remy. In the tasting cellar, Gérard Garouste stretched canvas across the walls, reshaping the space and giving it a soul. Every step tells a story.

Alain Ducasse Baccarat Restaurant

The dinner in the restaurant begins in the refined ambiance of the Midi-Minuit bar, with a cocktail by Margot Lecarpentier and four delicate creations from chefs Alain Ducasse, Christophe Saintagne, and Robin Schroeder. Three generations of chefs that combine experience, uniqueness and fresh ideas.

At the table, the menu unfolds like an engaging conversation—unexpected, dynamic, and unstructured. The coffee-scented squash evokes the warmth of a working foundry; lobster in rose tapioca hints at Cleopatra’s indulgence; sea bream with cedar and fennel refreshes the senses with precision. All set in the incredible dining room, with sculpted oak panels by Jean-Guillaume Mathiaut that contrast the sky of crystal raindrops (hand-blown by Baccarat artisans) that scatter light across the space, casting reflections as lively as the meal itself.

Jardin Bar and Restaurant

If you want to celebrate the sunny days, you can try the Jardin – a private terrace with a hidden Orangerie and a lighter menu. Here, you can expect raw white asparagus, fava beans, Lobster French toast and much more. As for the meat, the three Chefs focus on barbecue and yogurt marinated coquelet. The desert is still in a seductive spring concept – something like apple-pear tart or rhubarb clafoutis. You can sip on your cocktail in the shades of the chestnut trees, or enjoy a brunch or afternoon menu in this secret green oasis, designed to evoke the elegance of classical French garden.

Cultural agenda

As you know, The Maison is designed for spending the entire day in it. So, besides the different bars and restaurants, it also features a rich cultural agenda. Once every month, they invite artists in the ballroom to celebrate joie de vivre. There are concerts, conversations, performances and singing on the menu — not just the incredible food of Alain Ducasse.
