Your weekend escapades aren’t always going to entail a flight across oceans. Sometimes (dare we say it?) you might just want your couch potato moment. That said, you’re still an adventurer at heart, so instead of your living room couch, you can lounge in a five-star Parisian hotel’s cinema in Tribeca. Fouquet’s New York opened its private cinema for its Cozy Classics series in December — and the cozy season is still in its prime. Cannes Cinema is where to indulge if you’ve been craving a low-key, feel-good movie and a mouthful of buttery popcorn.

Let’s Go to the Movies

The obvious reason to go to the movies is to see the film. But that alone doesn’t make the experience. Fouquet’s takes this into account, by bringing glamour back to cinema (cue song: Let’s Go to the Movies from the Annie soundtrack). You’ll either start your experience with a three-course prix-fixe dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, or if you opt for drinks before, you’ll have two drinks and light bites at Titsou Bar. You’ll have approximately an hour and a half to relax and enjoy the art deco-inspired ambiance of the hotel before your viewing.

European design also makes its way into the cinema. The seats are lined in burnt orange velvet and resemble plush lounge beds with pillows, rather than traditional mancave-esque recliners. The side tables in particular make it feel like home.

The side tables, while adding refinement to the space, aren’t purely aesthetic. This is where you’ll keep your well-deserved stash of gourmet sweet treats. In the cinema, there is gourmet truffle popcorn in novelty white-and-red striped popcorn containers, soda in glass bottles (because it tastes better that way), and candy pouches from Lil Sweet Treat NYC.

Past & Future Showings

As the name suggests, the movies are old classics. Some past viewings include The Substance, The Holiday, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Future dates offer Pretty Woman and The Notebook (on Valentine’s Day).

FAQs:

Q: How many tickets can I purchase at a time?

A: You can purchase up to six tickets at a time on Resy, but tickets sell out quickly. Don’t lose hope if you see a show sold out; you can still opt in to be notified if a reservation is canceled and snag a seat.

Q: How much does it cost to reserve a Cozy Classic experience?

A: If you choose the Cozy Classics Cannes Cinema Dinner and Movie, it’s $165 per person. Cozy Classics – Drinks at Titsou and a Movie costs $110 per person.

Q: What is Fouquet’s New York address?

A: Fouquet’s New York address is 456 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10013.
