It used to be that Soho House was the only game in town as far as private clubs went in the Meatpacking. But then came Chez Margeaux. And now, a club has arrived whose name means “daredevil,” with a London pedigree. So, Manhattan’s Meatpacking District is about to become even swankier. The members-only private club Casse Cou is set to open soon, at 453 West 17th Street. Although there’s currently no clear opening date, we’re ready ready for it.
A Chic Venue
If the illustrated renderings on Casse Cou’s website and Instagram grid are anything to go by, we’re in for a treat. The plans, created by Paris-based artist Pierre Marie, exude French Art Déco charm inside and out. Even their logo is swoon-worthy.
We can expect stained-glass windows and multiple opulent spaces, some with bars and DJ booths, others with fireplaces and luscious plants. But all with comfortable seating and an intimate, secretive atmosphere. There are even plans for an outdoor space, La Terrace. New-York-based Nicolle Fuller, known for creating sophisticated spaces, is the interior designer in charge, so we expect nothing less than brilliance.
Gourmet dinners, crafted cocktails, and music performances—Casse Cou members will get access to the kind of exclusivity that turns evenings into legends.
Membership
Members who are 30 or younger will pay $2,500 per year, and members above 30, will pay $4,250 per year. Everyone will pay a $1,000 joining fee. While it’s not open just yet, you can already apply for membership on Casse Cou’s website. That way you can make sure you’re one of the first in, when it does open (you know that’s where you belong).
