Bagatelle Courchevel II

If there’s a place more glamorous than Courchevel this winter, we’d like to know. Of course, there are spots where it’s met its match (here’s looking at you, St. Moritz). But when it comes to a place that is pure indulgent Champagne-spraying, fur-wearing expensive enough to challenge your Centurion card limit, Courchevel is at the top. This is your guide to where to stay, eat, drink, and party this season for the best of Courchevel.

Where To Stay

There are many aspects that set Courchevel apart from other ski destinations in the Alps, the least of which is not the plentitude of luxury hotels. If you are a hotel person, it’s hard to beat Courchevel. This is a place where the ultra-luxury brands have gathered to express the Alpine version of themselves. So whether or not you ski or more participate in apres-ski, these hotels keep you in the most luxurious level of accommodation in the Alps.

The Hotel: Aman Le Mélézin

You don’t have an ultra-luxury tier of hotels in the house without Aman. Le Mélézin is where the signature Aman Zen meets Alpine chic  in this serene sanctuary. Aman’s minimalist elegance translates naturally to the mountains with natural woods and stone fireplaces. Of course there is a sublime holistic spa and the signature Aman service that transcends the experience. Of all the top hotels in Courchevel, Aman is the refuge outside of the revelry of Courchevel.

The Hotel: L’Apogée Courchevel

Some people are Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc people every summer. This is where you’ll likely find that same elegant crowd in Courchevel. Oetker Collection’s mountain masterpiece where contemporary sophistication meets timeless luxurious Alpine charm. The hotel is ski-in/ski-out perfection with luxe suites, a divine spa, and that indefinable art of making every guest feel like the only guest.

Les Airelles

If Marie-Antoinette had a favorite hotel in Courchevel, Les Airelles would be in the running. Les Airelles is about their palace vibes with gilded mirrors and finishes that convey rich.

The Hotel: Fouquet’s Courchevel

Fouquet’s is formerly the Hôtel Barrière Les Neiges, but no matter what you call it, it’s easy-going Parisian grandeur in a class of its own. Of course you’ll find the legendary Fouquet’s brasserie but now alongside world-class skiing.

The Hotel: Cheval Blanc

Cheval Blanc Courchevel is as if you took the Paris outpost and made it Alpine. LVMH’s Alpine flagship marries contemporary design to give off sleek, sophisticated vibes.  Cheval Blanc is understated luxury for those who know.

The Hotel: Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin

Rosewood is the newest of the luxury hotels to arrive, and some may say complete the luxury hotels in Courchevel. Rosewood is in its own lane and redefines Alpine luxury. With a residential feel, Rosewood brings expansive suites, cutting-edge wellness facilities and spots where you just want to cozy up next to a fire.

Le K2 Palace

This Relais & Châteaux gem offers just 30 suites that are authentic Alpine chic. Le K2 distinguishes itself as a Courchevel-only property, and not part of the larger ultra-luxury brands. Whether or not you stay here, the two Michelin-starred restaurant is where to dine for an elegant meal. There will be Champagne, just not Champagne sprayed.

The Top Places in Courchevel to Eat, Drink, and Party

You’ll see that there’s a theme on our list of the best restaurants in Courchevel, as there are a number of familiar names. That’s because when you’re not having a rose fueled summer, you have to relocate somewhere for the winter. That somewhere is Courchevel, easily the most chic and scene-driven outpost in the French Alps. These are the essential restaurants to know for the best of Courchevel.

The key spot is on the terrace to get the full European lunch with a spot of wine, of course.

The Restaurant: Le Cap Horn

Sometimes, the music just owns you. Le Cap Horn is a lively nautical-themed escape that serves hearty Alpine lunches before transforming into Courchevel’s most spirited party scene. Think champagne, DJ sets, and clientele who never met a table they didn’t want to dance on.

Les Airelles Buffet Courchevel
Les Airelles Courchevel

The Restaurant: Les Airelles

Les Airelles is where palace-hotel opulence meets the mountains. As a brand from St. Tropez, to Venice and Courchevel, you can say that Les Airelles is crushing it. For those who had not heard of this portfolio before, that will probably all change once the newest season of White Lotus starts filming in the St. Tropez location this April. Besides White Lotus, their super power includes their legendary buffets that are excessive in the best possible way. This overflowing lobster, caviar, pastries, and champagne.

The Restaurant: La Mangeoire

La Mangeoire, like beloved Courchevel institution serving authentic Savoyard classics in a gloriously cozy chalet setting. Fondue flows, raclette sizzles, and the atmosphere radiates that warm Alpine hospitality money can’t buy. Pure mountain magic.

The Restaurant: Loulou

Loulou isn’t just for your Paris Fashion week or summer in St. Tropez. The mountain version at 6,000 feet brings all the signature dishes, including their black truffle pizza. And somehow after skiing all morning the caviar pasta hits even better as you’ve earned your carbs.

The Club: Les Caves

You can say that Les Caves is about getting down to brass tax, which is the nightlife of Courchevel. As the scene really kicks up late night, most are likely not going to get the first chairlift up the next day. An atmospheric wine cellar turned nightclub, Les Caves is where Courchevel’s beautiful people gather  to dance until late.

The Restaurant: La Folie Douce

If there’s a spot in Courchevel that will guarantee debauchery, La Folie Douce may just be where that’s at.  La Folie is where you arrive on skis, and wonder how you’ll ski down after Champagne-fueled revelry. Expect  featuring live bands, acrobats, and dancing on tables, which in other words is just another day in Courchevel.
