Now that the Venice vows are (almost) sealed and the last flute of Dom has been clinked, there’s only one question left. Where does the world’s flashiest couple go to unwind in peace, preferably without a drone in sight? Our pick: Kisawa Sanctuary, a wildly remote, deeply luxurious escape off the coast of Mozambique. It’s about as far from paparazzi and push notifications as you can get. No WiFi pressure, no red carpets, just sand and sea. And a private villa that makes even Bezos’s yacht look a little… well, cramped.

Kisawa Sanctuary

Kisawa is located on the southern tip of Benguerra Island, and of course, it’s not just a glossy tropical resort. This is the kind of place you reach after a small plane, a boat ride, and possibly a spiritual awakening. The whole idea is about barefoot luxury, delivered with science-lab precision and local craftsmanship. It was designed by the entrepreneur Nina Flohr, and it took years to build—by hand, mind you—with local artisans creating everything from thatched roofs to woven furniture using the island techniques. Therefore, every inch of the place is designed to disappear into the dunes. But don’t mistake that for rustic. You’re still getting a full outdoor kitchen, private pool, and a beach that feels like it was roped off just for you (because it basically is).

Accommodation

There are just 12 residencies at Kisawa, and calling them “bungalows” is like calling The Louvre a little gallery. These sprawling private compounds come with a beach-side position, indoor-outdoor everything, infinity pool, outdoor shower, and even your own thatched daybed pavilion for a bit of shade-between-swims action. So if Bezos and Sánchez are doing it right (and let’s be honest—they are), they should book The Residences. Bigger footprint, even more privacy, and a dining area so pretty they might actually sit down to eat without checking their phones. Each stay also comes with a dedicated host, housekeeper, and masseuse. Naturally.

Food

There are three restaurants at Kisawa: The Main Terrace, Cove Mussassa and Baracca. But don’t expect white tablecloths and 10-course formality. The meals here are personal, flexible, and wildly fresh, with most ingredients either grown on-site or caught that day. Executive Chef Nandita Khemka keeps things rooted in Mozambican flavors but adds a bit of finesse. Something like grilled crayfish with coconut curry one night, and wood-fired fish with tamarind glaze the next. You can dine barefoot in your villa, on the sand, or under the stars. And since Kisawa is also home to its own permaculture farm, even the herbs feel extra. No menus, no rules—just tell them what you’re in the mood for and let magic happen.

Spa

Kisawa’s wellness offering is tied to the Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies next door. So this definitely isn’t just an average cucumber-mask situation. You’ll find Ayurvedic therapies, sound healing, deep-tissue massages that actually go deep, and facials that use marine-based ingredients pulled straight from the local ecosystem. The treatment rooms themselves are set on outdoor decks, dune-side pavilions, or in your own beach villa if you don’t feel like wandering. And the highlights include the warm-oil abhyanga massage and the after-sun body wrap (because let’s face it, someone’s going to forget the SPF).

Activities

Sure, you could spend your entire stay horizontal (and no one would judge you), but if the newlyweds want to explore, there’s plenty to do. There is private diving expeditions with marine biologists, snorkeling in coral gardens, horseback riding on empty beaches, or simply hopping on a dhow boat with a chilled bottle of rosé and watching the sun turn the Indian Ocean into a lava lamp. You can also go island-hopping, whale-watching, or visit local fishing villages if you’re craving a little cultural connection between spa appointments. And if Bezos needs his adrenaline fix? They’ve got kite surfing and dune buggies ready.

So if Bezos and Sánchez want privacy without sacrificing a single luxury (or losing access to a turmeric latte), Kisawa Sanctuary is the answer. No cameras, no chaos, just barefoot calm and total extravagance—exactly what you’d want after throwing a wedding that had half of Italy on alert.
