Nobody Wants This Film Locations

Family Ties. Who’s the Boss? Full House. They just don’t make shows like they used to, that is, until now. Erin Foster’s Nobody Wants This launched on Netflix and with it brought smart, modern writing back to TV.  We would even go so far as to say, brilliant, relatable, and laugh-out-loud funny. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are magic on screen, but we’ll get to that in a separate review. In this article, we’re talking about the third cast member, and that’s the city of Los Angeles which took a major supporting role. These are a few of the Nobody Wants This film locations that are worthy to put on your list.

The Location: De Buena Planta

De Buena Planta was one of the Nobody Wants This film locations in LA, where Kristen Bell and Adam Brody’s characters had somewhat awkward drinks with their siblings in tow. Don’t blame the venue though, which was known for its magical garden and where Bell and Brody’s characters got to know each other. De Buena Planta was the sister restaurant to The Butcher’s Daughter, which is a perennially favorite spot to brunch LA-style over healthy plant-based cuisine. De Buena Planta focused the plant-based approach on Mexican food. As they say, sometimes things come full circle. De Buena Planta started as a pop-up in Venice and opened up a fixed Silver Lake location. Since filming wrapped, the Silver Lake location with its oasis of a garden has closed, but they will return as a pop-up again.

The Location: Mirate

From bad Raya matches, to first non-dates, and that first kiss, Mirate and Vermont Street were the heart of scenes throughout Nobody Wants This film locations. Erin Foster is clearly a fan of Mexican food which of course shines in Los Angeles. Mirate is elevated Mexican cuisine in an understated rustic LA atmosphere. They pretty much had us though with their specialty cocktails like the lemongrass Mezcal with a side of caviar.

The Location: Mama Shelter

Kristen Bell’s character Joanne introduces Adam Brody’s character Noah to her inner circle, and he crushes it. The meeting place was Nobody Wants This film location Mama Shelter, a Design Hotel in Hollywood. Mama Shelter is a portfolio of hotels in chic locations like Nice, Bordeaux, London, and soon Dubai. Like the characters in Nobody Wants This, the scene and vibe are cool, young, and lively. The highlight of the hotel is the rooftop terrace with views of the Hollywood sign and downtown LA, where the characters brunched over mimosas.
