If you’re planning a bachelor party and have a private jet on standby, may we suggest the Salamanca district? Right in the heart of Madrid, this elegant, fashion-forward neighborhood is where billionaires chill and bartenders remember your drink before you order it. It’s all broad boulevards, leafy corners, and restaurants where the lighting is so good you look like you’ve slept.

Which, in Bezos’ case, he probably hadn’t. Because before floating off to Venice for his ultra-private nuptials, Jeff Bezos touched down in Madrid for one seriously curated night out. And it wasn’t some chaotic bar crawl. It was more like a culinary runway show, moving smoothly from polished dining rooms to secret lounges. No dress code panic, no velvet rope drama. Just five killer stops, all within the golden triangle of Calle Jorge Juan, Serrano, and Castellana.

Ten con Ten

Bezos kicked things off at Ten con Ten, the Salamanca staple. It’s where Madrid’s elite casually sip Albariño and close six-figure deals between bites of risotto. The space walks a fine line between cozy and couture. Expect wood-paneled walls, moody lighting, velvet seating, and just enough crystal to remind you it’s not your average brasserie. Chef Sandro Silva’s menu is pure comfort with spectacle, and is built for pleasure. Truffle-laced pasta, buttery oxtail tacos, and tuna tartare with avocado and soy drizzle are on heavy rotation. The wine list is stacked, but the cocktails here are also no afterthought. Try the Moscow Mule 2.0, served in hammered copper with ginger foam. Or a very Bezos-appropriate negroni aged in a mini oak barrel.

La Destilería

Next stop: La Destilería. It’s a speakeasy-style temple to rare spirits beneath an unmarked facade in Chamberí. The design is dark yet elegant, with a marble bar, vintage decanters, leather club chairs and candlelight flickering off walls lined with Japanese whiskey and small-batch tequila. The bar program is directed by the liquid alchemist Diego Cabrera (one of Spain’s cocktail kings). Therefore, highlights include a smoked Old Fashioned made with a 25-year Macallan and a truffle-infused martini that nearly causes a small existential crisis at the table. Charcuterie boards here come laced with jamón ibérico, so buttery it deserves a love sonnet, and rumor has it the staff had to hide the last bottle of Pappy Van Winkle before Jeff added it to his Amazon cart.

Blondie Club

By midnight, the energy shifted to Blondie Club, a late-night haven that lives behind thick velvet ropes and mirrored doors. Inside, the decor is rich—crimson seating, mirrored walls, and a dance floor that catches the light with every spin. The music leans disco and retro-funk, just enough groove to get even the shyest tech billionaires moving. Bottle service here is in full swing, and the signature cocktail, the Blondie 75, is laced with pink gin and citrus, and topped with a mist of something floral and mysterious.

Castellana 8

The next day, the group regrouped at Castellana 8, the elegant lounge inside the NH Collection Hotel. This space feels hushed and grown-up, all dark wood, velvet booths, and bartenders who don’t flinch when you order something off-menu at an odd hour. Here, the drinks are more restrained. The smoky mezcal sour arrives with a slice of dehydrated lime balanced on top like a tiny sculpture, and small plates float out of the kitchen: mini beef Wellingtons, grilled sea bass in miso glaze, and burrata that practically slides off the spoon. When things need a breather (but not a wind-down), Castellana 8 is the kind of place you drift into. It’s elegant, hushed, and just removed enough from the main drag to feel like a secret.

Gunnila

After a weekend of private dining rooms, vintage cocktails, and expertly curated guest lists, the final stop of Jeff Bezos’ Madrid bachelor bash was Gunnila—a club so exclusive it doesn’t need to advertise, post, or explain itself. You either know it, or you don’t. Inside, the mood is dark and sultry, with low lighting, plush velvet textures, and a soundtrack that leans deep house and late-night European beats. The tables aren’t just reserved—they’re claimed by name.

Bezos’ bachelor party may not have been live-streamed, but one thing is certain—Madrid’s Salamanca neighborhood delivered the kind of night that’s hard to top. From the dimly lit dinner spots to the velvet-drenched dance floors, the evening is a masterclass on how to party with taste (and a black card).
