Favorite destination
Hydra & Spetses, Greek Islands.
I was fortunate to live in Greece for a couple of years, and these two islands will stay with me forever. The warmth of the people, the food, the antique shops tucked into narrow streets — it’s everything you’d dream of in a European summer escape.
Most Exotic Place Traveled
Saudi Arabia.
During a friends’ trip, we attended a music festival outside Riyadh, right in the middle of the desert. The next day, we explored the dunes by buggy — an unforgettable feeling of being surrounded by nothing but sand and silence. It taught me how thrilling remote destinations can be… and why having a good guide matters.
Travel philosophy
My travel philosophy is simple: live like a local during the day, and treat yourself to unforgettable experiences at night. It’s all about finding the perfect balance between authenticity and elevated comfort.

About Nino Portales
Originally from Provence in the South of France, I grew up in a tennis family with Roger Federer as my idol. I turned professional at 17, before transitioning into luxury hospitality with Aman five years later. Over the past six years, I lived and worked across Thailand, Greece, Bahrain and Turks & Caicos, gaining an insider’s perspective on some of the world’s most remarkable hotels and destinations. Now based between Paris and the South of France, I bring this expertise to Galavante as a Luxury Travel Advisor. My background in professional sport shaped the discipline and precision I apply to my work today — whatever I do, I do it to the highest standard.
