It may sound like a cocktail, and it likely is a drink on their menu. But the Amex Sidecar that is especially exciting is the new annex to their Express Centurion airport lounges, set to launch this year. A smaller and more intimate speakeasy-like space, the Sidecar will be the civilized place to libation it up before your flight.

Overview

In July 2025, American Express announced the latest addition to their travel portfolio: Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge. Unlike their existing Centurion Lounge line, American Express touts Sidecar as a “small-format lounge” created specifically for travelers with limited time. Harry Reid International (LAS) will be home to the first location, with a grand opening slated for sometime in 2026. It’s a full circle moment for the airport that also debuted the first Centurion Lounge back in 2013.

The Details

Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge is designed to pack quite the punch in just 90 minutes. Whether you’re catching a flight to your bucket-list destination, or heading home after your latest adventure, Sidecar will see you off in style. The vibe of the lounge is total speakeasy chic; think earth tones and desert hues with accents of stone and brass. Once inside the lounge, members can expect a curated menu of small plates and signature cocktails, just big enough to enjoy before boarding time. Sidecar will also offer exclusive dishes crafted by American Express’ newly announced Culinary Collective; a star-studded collaboration of all-star chefs from around the country.

Why only 90 minutes?

The 90-minute rule is all about creating a tailored experience for travelers who are short on time. And truthfully, many guests already spend less than an hour in an airport lounge — at least according to American Express. So, Sidecar is designed specifically for that fast-paced crowd — those who want a quick recharge without the full lounge sprawl. The turnover is high, the service tailored, and it goes perfect with the new Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge vibe.
