We’re taking a pause this week from our regularly scheduled Weekly, and today, we want to address the reality of what’s happening in our country and our world. If you’re reading this, then you’re the person who can make a difference.
My view of the world was forever changed on May 25th. Despite having a diverse group of friends and industry colleagues, I realized how little I knew about the level of discrimination and the unjust challenges black individuals face on a daily basis. It made me realize I haven’t done my part and I must do more.
What has happened since the death of George Floyd has brought out both the best, and the worst, in people. I said from the beginning that the COVID-19 pandemic was a window into people’s souls. Right now, with the added national crisis, the universe is holding our feet to the fire.
We are at a critical point in our history. It is time to rise to the occasion, to do more and to do better for those who suffer discrimination and injustice. This is not an overnight fix, but it starts with each of us: what we say at the dinner table in our homes and how we choose to conduct ourselves in our everyday lives.
We don’t sit on sidelines at Galavante. We put our money where our mouth is, from who we hire, to our incredible clients and to where we volunteer. Working directly in communities around the world is the core of who we are. To begin, we are making donations to the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor. If you are looking for ways to help, here is a list of organizations you can contribute to:

I want to share a video that gave me some pause to reflect. We all have a voice — we need to use it. We all have a vote — we need to use it. This is the time for us to speak up and be part of the solution, for the future of our families, our communities, our country and our world.
We’re in this together.
