When the runway lights dim and the flashbulbs fade, the real fashion week magic happens behind velvet ropes and candlelit tables. From power lunches to late-night martinis, these are the A-list hangouts to hit up during New York Fashion Week.

Balthazar

A cornerstone of SoHo chic since 1997, Balthazar is more than a French brasserie—it’s a fashion world fixture. The intimate, velvet-red dining room is lined with antique mirrors and warm globe lights. Because what’s Fashion Week without mirrors and good lighting? The menu leans into crowd-pleasing French flavors: think steak frites, duck confit, and buttery escargot. The attached bakery serves up some of the city’s finest croissants and tarts. And during Fashion Week, Balthazar becomes a stylish stomping ground for everyone from Anna Wintour and Andrew Garfield to Brad Pitt and Florence Pugh. Fashion trends may change, but Balthazar is always in vogue.

Other celebs spotted at Balthazar: Eddie Redmayne, Neil Selkirk, Florence Pugh, Meryl Streep, Jared Leto.

The Polo Bar

What’s more fitting for a Fashion Week restaurant hang than a restaurant straight from the mind of one of the world’s hottest fashion houses? Enter: The Polo Bar by Ralph Lauren. Inspired by Lauren’s love of equestrian culture, the wood-paneled space combines old-money Americana with NYC chic. We’re talking leather banquettes, polished brass, hunting artwork, and even riding helmets as décor. The menu serves elevated comfort, perfect to dig into after a long day runway-side (their signature burger has quickly gained legend status on the Upper East Side). During Fashion Week, The Polo Bar has also hosted star studded pop-ups in Brooklyn and The Hamptons — and the guest lists read like a Met Gala afterparty: Jill Biden, Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour, and Usher, to name a few.

Other celebs spotted at The Polo Bar: Meghan Markle, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Priyanka Chopra, Kamala Harris.

Casa Cipriani

It’s a private club. It’s a luxury hotel. It’s a dining destination. And during Fashion Week, Casa Cipriani is a magnet for the who’s who of NYC, Hollywood, Milan, and beyond. Perched inside the Beaux-Arts Battery Maritime Building with sweeping East River views, the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Irina Shayk strut to Casa Cipriani to celebrate Fashion Week in style. There’s more than enough room to fit all the star power that comes along with NYFW; a formal restaurant serving up mouthwatering Italian classics like veal milanese, a plush Jazz Cafe where the cocktails are just as satisfying as the live band, and multiple bars, terraces, and lounges to kick back and debrief on the day’s hottest collections.

Other celebs spotted at Casa Cipriani: Alix Earle, Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Serena Williams.

Carbone

Whether it’s Fashion Week or a random Friday night, no list of NYC celeb spots would be complete without Carbone. The downtown icon channels old-school Italian-American swagger with a sharply tailored twist — tuxedoed waiters, red leather booths, and spicy rigatoni that’s basically a celebrity in its own right. And during Fashion Week, it’s as much about the scene as the sauce, with Kylie Jenner, Victoria Beckham and Madonna slipping into the dimly lit dining room for martinis and veal parm.

Other celebs spotted at Carbone: Rihanna, Justin & Hailey Bieber, Jay-Z, Beyoncé.

Casa Tua

Say hello to Casa Tua, the luxe new addition to the list of NYFW haunts. Expanding on the success of locations in Miami, Aspen, and Paris, Casa Tua catwalked into the newly renovated Surrey Hotel in late 2024 — making this year’s New York Fashion Week its very first. But Casa Tua is not exactly a new kid on the haute-couture block. Their OG Miami location has long been a staple for the Florida fashion scene, and their New York location is shaping up to follow in its designer shoe-d footsteps. Casa Tua New York is equal parts public restaurant and private club. The restaurant serves homey Italian and Mediterranean dishes, while the exclusive club offers a refined refuge amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s all rustic wood, curated art, and quiet corners perfect for post-show debriefs or discreet power dinners.

Celebs spotted at Casa Tua New York: Rosanna Scotto, Alison Brod, Ramona Singer.#
