If artists have annual world-class art conventions, and music-lovers have Reading and Leeds every summer, foodies have the sixth annual St. Barth’s Gourmet Festival, which is taking place from November 6th to November 10th this year. Organized by the Saint Barthélemy Tourism Committee, think of it as a mecca for foodies from all over the world.

Another sign of recovery from the Hurricane Irma that wrecked St. Barthélemy in 2017, with Eden Rock officially opening this November, and a multitude of other hotels and restaurants opening up in the West Indies, the St. Barth’s Gourmet Festival can be considered the unofficial kick-off of the destination. And before prices skyrocket, whether you’re a well-versed foodie or simply in the mood for the culinary capital of the Caribbean, St. Barth is the place to be this fall.

In the past, the festival has been hosted by New-York-based Jean-Georges Vongerichten. This year, the festival’s patron Michelin-starred chef is Arnaud Faye (Relais & Châteaux La Chèvre d’Or), who will deliver the opening speech, and serve as the president for the jury for select events.

The festival will focus on French cuisine, and will feature both French Michelin-starred chefs, as well as local chefs to create the most exquisitely gourmet meals. Each chef will create a multi-course signature menu, and dinners will be based all over the 9.26-square-mile island, from Le Barthelemy Hotel & Spa and the Hotel Christopher, to Hotel Le Toiny, Le Sereno, Le Tamarin, L’Esprit Jean-Claud Dufour and Nikki Beach.
