Colgin Wine

Colgin Cellars in Napa Valley gets acquired by LVMH

When it comes to luxury, it’s hard to beat the French. So as the saying goes, if you can’t beat them, join them. Hence it seems a natural marriage for the authority on luxury, LVMH, to acquire 60% of Colgin Cellars. On the sacred ground of Pritchard Hill in Napa, Colgin has been doing their thing—turning out some of the most exclusive and hard to get your hands on wine in the entire valley, for 25 years. Led by Ann Colgin and her investment banker husband, Joe Wender (who knows a thing or two about acquisitions), Colgin officially joined the LVMH portfolio on November 21, 2017.

In theory, it will be the best of all worlds: Ann and Joe will continue to hold 40% ownership of the winery, and will not only keep their COO Paul Roberts, but also their rock star winemaker, Allison Tauziet. Pair that with the powerful dollars, strategy, and marketing expertise of LVMH, along with their expertise in the beverage industry, and world domination is within reach. Until then, we’ll keep trying to get our hands on Colgin’s limited production wine.

On the most coveted list:

·     IX Estate (2015)

·      IX Estate Syrah (2015)

·     Cariad (2014)

·     Tychson Hill (2014)
