Best Luxury Hotel Seychelles

The Six Senses Zil Pasyon - The Cool Seychelles

This is not your grandma’s luxury hotel.  Not to say your grandma is not totally chic, (you get it from somewhere) but the Six Senses has created a new category of high-end travel.  At the Six Senses Zil Pasyon, luxury is low-key, down-to-earth and effortless.   Super deeply comfortable rooms you never want to leave?  Check.   Your own personal butler?  Check. Top-notch food?  Check.  Spa that is worth traveling for? Yes, yes, yes.  But, here, there’s no white gloves or tuxedos, gilded chandeliers or pretense.  In its place are the amazing staff who hustle around making it all happen, a croquet playing general manager who is so cool you take him into your friend group and that butler we mentioned - cleverly called your GEM  (short for Experiences Manager) is like a fairy godmother, making all your dreams come true.  As for those crash pad worthy rooms, they are decked out with private pools, views of the Indian Ocean and even a swing in the bathroom.  We’ll leave the rest up to your imagination.

One of the best parts of the Six Senses on its own private island of Felicite is the location.  It’s a short boat ride away from La Digue, one of the most beautiful islands in the world with those iconic white sand beaches.  This is the reason the Seychelles is so renowned.  After getting dropped off by your speedboat, there are bikes awaiting you on the shore to take the 30 minute ride to the quartet of remote beaches that are separated by hikes up natural rock formations, where each beach gets more beautiful.  You work for it, including that cocktail brought to you by the local mixing mystery punch on the beach.  For those who want more cocktail and less hiking, a private boat can be arranged to take you by ocean to each of the beaches on La Digue.

But getting back to the Six Senses, because it defines the experience in the Seychelles, the food is just off the charts.  In season those avocados piled high at breakfast are from trees on the island, where you’ll never look at guacamole the same.  To say that mealtime is an anticipated highlight is an understatement.  The ingredients are almost all local with the freshest fish, lobster and seafood.  It’s a place where you’re guiltlessly on the three lobsters a day diet.

We would be remiss not to mention the spa; the Six Senses has their roots in spas for a reason.  And the spa at Zil Pasyon just may be one of the best in the world.  Yes, we said it. It’s out there.  Built into massive natural rock formations, it’s a Robinson Crusoe-worthy adventure, crossing suspension bridges and a maze of paths to get to the ultimate paradise.  For a remote island where all staff virtually onsite, they’ve brought in the best, as the treatments are off the charts. So to add to your 3 lobster a day diet, a spa treatment or two a day keeps the doctor away.  And a stay at the Six Senses Zil Pasyon gives you that sought after life is good moment.
