The scoop: As much as we would love to, dropping everything and
Betony NYCBusiness Savory
The scoop: With both CBS Broadcast Center and Hearst Tower, 57th Street is quite the mecca for business moguls. But diehard foodies? Not so much. At least, that used to be the case. A recent renaissance has made the corporate hub a culinary capital. And Betony, with its award-winning menu, may have a little something to do with that.
The scene: Turns out some of those foodies are also running board meetings down the street. At least you’d think so in taking a look around the masculine, dark-wood dining room after work hours. The crowd leans heavily towards attractive, wealthy professionals in their 30s to 50s. It feels sort of like the grown-up table for people who have made it in New York. Trust us: You want a seat.
The ingredient: Consistent quality is what wins this place its frequent accolades – and our hearts. Menu items are artfully curated, and each packs quite the punch. We can't speak more highly of the marinated scallop with horseradish and sorrel. And then there are pastas, like our favorite glazed nettle ravioli with morels and hazelnuts. Forget a VP post at a Fortune 500 company – this is what dreams are made of.
