It wouldn’t be unheard of to use the word “yummy” to describe some of spring’s juiciest runway looks. But the Berkeley, one of our favorite places to stay in London, takes this a step further. They’ve recently relaunched Prêt-à-Portea in their ground-floor Caramel Room, which means only one thing: fashion-inspired desserts. That’s right, the Berkeley’s in-house pastry chefs are translating spring/summer 2014 runway looks for taste buds. Oscar de la Renta’s flirty sundress? Now arriving in pistachio sponge cake with poppy-seed parfait. Fashion It Girl Simone Rocha’s shirt dress? It tastes like pineapple and coconut with a hint of lime (the Savarin is drizzled with lime-flavored sugar). Alberta Ferretti’s pretty-in-pink ballerina skirt? Scratch the tulle – that will come in one divine glass of lemon-verbena panna cotta. With a pointed, toe-shoed leg as a garnish, of course. When we say their clothes are pretty enough to eat, we mean it.
