YOUR INSPIRATION TO EXPLORE THE WORLD

The Destination Haus Boat

Destination Haus Boat

Sometimes we find things that are just cool, and the Destination Haus Boat is our PSA of the day. From the team behind Destination Haus, who creates surreal tablescapes in the Hamptons – this time they’ve taken their operation to sea. Literally, on a converted barge boat that’s made to host your next party in Montauk this summer. There’s Martha Stewart, whom we all know and love, but Destination Haus takes party settings to the next level. With Destination Haus Boat, you can grab a seat for a sundowner cruise, or rent out the whole operation for you and your besties. These are the details.

Atmosphere is Everything

You can have the best food in the world. But if your setting is just vanilla, the full effect of your hard work won’t land its full impact. Also when you’re hosting a party in the Hamptons, it’s really about the vibe. Whether it’s a casual brunch, beach cookout, or a formal dinner, the atmosphere sets the mood. And really, there are not a lot of fun Hamptons parties where it’s focused on fine dining. You’re at the beach to enjoy yourself in a casual setting. So, as a host, you want to create an atmosphere that will make it conducive for people to have a good time. There’s nothing like being blown away from the moment that you enter a party. Anyone who has hosted though, knows that’s hard to do.

A Home Store with a Knack for Party Planning

Enter Destination Haus, a lifestyle brand company that started in the Hamptons as a storefront in Amagansett. It was kind of a side hustle for its three partners, who are mother-daughters. They were all passionate about art and home design. By background, one of the daughters is a photojournalist and the mother has a BFA in Art. The second daughter had first-hand experience in fashion sales and working with local artisans in Africa. Well, it turns out those backgrounds were the perfect combination. They’ve built Destination Haus into a mini-empire of design and lifestyle and branched into creating party settings in the Hamptons. They’ve collaborated with top lifestyle experts, including Athena Calderone from Eyeswoon.

Event Styling

Destination Haus is not a caterer or even an event planner. Instead, they make magic by styling your event. Essentially they’ll transform your backyard, dining room, beach party, or wherever you choose into a surreal and dreamy setting. Any party they do, you walk in and you are wowed. They bring all the place settings, dishes, serve ware, chairs, pillows, poufs, and custom tables. They collaborate with a florist and can do even your invites. What they don’t do is food, but they can add on bonfires, photography, and other event essentials.

The Destination Haus Boat

One of the Destination Haus founders is married to a fisherman, so clearly it helps to have good boat connections. This is no regular fishing boat though, but instead a Destination Haus production that glides through the calm inlets of Montauk. The converted barge sails for sundowner cruises, where you can grab a seat on a scheduled ride for around $300. Or if you’re looking to host a unique party, take the barge out with your nearest and dearest. With Destination Haus you can arrange a top caterer with staff, to pour rosé and mix up Aperol spritzes to your heart’s content. You’ve done it all in the Hamptons, and the Destination Haus Boat brings in something fresh for the summer. Then if you want to move your party to the beach for an evening clam bake, Destination Haus has you covered for that too.
